COMPOSITION AND MATERIALS
Our backer rod is a round, resilient, extruded closed cell polyethylene backer rod with a water resistant outer skin. It is compatible with most known cold applied sealants such as urethane, silicone, acrylic, butyl, polysulfides, latex, and chinking sealants.

LIMITATIONS
Backer Rod should be installed with a roller or blunt, flat-sided tool. Please follow sealant manufacturer specifications for recommended sealant width and depth ratio. For best results, do not puncture, fold or overly stretch the product. The product is made with a water-resistant outer skin, therefore where moisture resistance is important, care should be taken not to puncture this outer surface skin.
INSTALLATION
Joint or opening must be free of all contaminants, loose materials, dry and free of frost. Select correct rod size for joint width. With a blunt instrument or roller, seat Backer Rod to depth recommended by sealant manufacturer.

I used this to fill the gap between vinyl plank flooring and the walls. Worked exactly as expected.
Thankfully, this backer rod comes in a dispenser bag for ease of use compared to other sellers that show a photo of their backer rod on a spool, but actually ship their backer rod in a tangled mess tossed inside a box, not on a spool. The dispenser bag is the next best thing to a spool.
Used this product to plug gaps between my sidewalk blocks then added a sealer. No more digging out plants and weeds. It also keeps the ice from getting under the blocks in the winter. No more expanded cracks and increased separation. So far, it has withstood the Michigan winter.

Durable, doesn't snap off when stretched. Stays together while installing. Priced competitively. The backer rod has been in for a week and has kept shape and length even under pressure from the floating laminate floor edging against it. It has kept the pressure against the floor and has not shrank or pulled back/shortened as some brands too once installed by now. The brand of backer rod I used or my other floating floor did not perform as well as this brand has. The other brand shrunk and diameter and actually shortened at the ends. I didn't stretch the other brand but it still shrunk. I wish I would have used this brand on the floor. This brand is definitely higher quality backer rod.

Worked out perfectly for a large concrete pad with several saw cuts. The 1/4” size fit the concrete saw cuts with just enough interference fit to backup the acrylic filler at a decent thickness so no filler is wasted.
exactly what it's supposed to be. I was afraid after reading what a few people said about difficulty unravelling it. I have no idea what they were talking about... comes easily out of a hole in the center of the bag from start to finnish.
Used for caulk backer. Worked as should.
I use this product for a purpose that requires that it be very firm. What I received is medium firm which is probably OK for the purpose for which it is intended and may be OK for my purpose. The manufacturer which I contacted by phone was very helpful and was the only source I could find that produced the product with the diameter that I need.
